Who backs up their stuff at home using a program? I'm sick of the ongoing network location battle Acronis is giving me, so if anyone has a recommendation, I'd appreciate it...

I use the software that came with my WD MyBook Live drive works a treat and i hardly notice it.

I just use drop box now for files/photos. Have unlimited internets so don't care about losing movies/music/games.

what is it you were wanting to backup?

I hear CrashPlan is pretty good, and has Sydney based servers to relatively good connectivity

Pretty much looking at taking a snapshot of my C Drive, and then incrementals thereafter as necessary. I've used Acronis, don't like it's lack of Network suitability given all my storage space is over network drives, and I've also used Shadow Protect, but their whole licensing system fucks me off no end when I reinstall and forget to reset the license etc.

After looking at features and the likes - I'm heading back to ShadowProtect. It worked, and is a recommended back up utility in so many places it's ridiculous.
I'll double team it with some cloud back up for important files.

Synctoy works amazingly, simple product but easily configured and supports network paths

My DC at home just has GPO's to roaming profile/redirect folders/offline files all the stuff I use to my DFS
I can rebuild my computer, rejoin it to the domain, and yay, stuff..

Are you using DFS-R? If so may want to read http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2533009 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2533009) which is why I didn't implement folder redirection and DFS for my home AD home drives.
