So i downloaded ARMA2 and ARMA2 OA.

Ran both games

I installed DayZ mod with the updater earlier

Now i launch the game, select server, join in my slot, and i get into the game, but  i just cant move, and it looks like in almost in first person mode.

Any ideas?

Think its because you have a newer version of dayz than the servers. Looks like 1.7 came out over night

I have same thing, installed today and running 1.7.

Just going to wait for servers to update to it.

I'm sure I've seen a few servers running 1.7 So jump on and see if they're up, if not, guess there'll be some more waiting.

Apparently I think 1.7 update is meant to help with a lot of the loading times, so atm not really much you can do.

abort/reconnect a few time usually fixes that for me.:highly_amused:

Yeah sometimes it gets a bug when you sit on waiting for server response. Basicaly if you abort out to the server menu and the text "waiting for server resoponse" is still in the background you have to exit all the way out to the main menu and then click on multiplayer again.

Had such epic luck playing this game last night - ended up with a ghillie suit, coyote backpack (24 slots!!!!), 15 AKM mags and 4 PDW mags.. Got the suit from Stary Sobor supermarket and the ammo/backpack from the military camp in the same town.

Gdam it ive been looking for a ghillie suit for ages Mind you when your shooting at elctro/cherno from 500+meters away its prty hard to spot even without camo

Alive almost 2 weeks now, ran out of food two nights ago so didnt want to play but login today to find spawned back at the coast lucky for there was a goat nearby then as I was running north I also found a pig so got plenty of meat now.

Because the weapon you have there isn't included as default in DayZ. There's a silenced M4 - the M4A1 CCO SD -  but it comes without the torch and the grenade launcher, it also has a red dot scope. Yours has the holographic one (and is an M4A1 HOLO SD). If you picked it up off a dead body, you might wanna get rid of it (if you haven't already), and if you obtained it another way - you might wanna get rid of it.

Using weapons not in the game can get you banned permanently.

Ok, can't get this working.

Why are all the servers 1.6, while the only files avaliable from the dayz website are all 1.7?

When will servers be updated to 1.7?

Problem with 1.7 is that its kind of an unfinished patch, Rocket released it before going to E3 but it introduced a fair few bugs (no backpacks spawning being a big one).

Can get 1.6.0.1 at http://cdn.armafiles.info/old/dayz_code_v1.6.0.1.rar

I'd personally stay away from 1.7 atm.
