This is why I play elite dangerous.

Braden launches first game 49.99 sold. Launches lifetime expansion pass 10 year cycle 149 dollars sold.
Or 49.99 for this seasons expansions.

And that's it no fanfare just here's a solid base and we will add to it each year and the. Start the cycle again and each iteration can be played without the other or if you own them all it builds together. Done and done.

Another fail, we cant deliver the game as a full game so we will split it off and make you pay for the individual games seperatley..

Wanted: Nostromo or Orbweaver
Getting into MOBA's?

yeah i used to have one along time ago even for FPS, i broke my wrist as a kid and long keyboard sessions are causing me pain so wanting something more supportive, i actually believe it or not want the Nostromo more because of it's scroll wheel, i use that as weapon up down in fps.

Nope i was on leave yesterday, fuckwits just let the contractor from the vendor in and the systems team didnt even bother to check what he was up to , i just built the box and put it in the rack space as i am the integrations specialist that builds the shit that talks to their products and does validation and transformations of data, the systems team where the ones that let him in and fucked it up, and all because their boss didnt want to spare someone from his tema to assist and install the vendors apps.

Why is a junior working on production?
Why is anyone /working/ on production?
Why is /anyone/ running rm -rf / !?
well actually it was a seperate production instance that was stood up for a contractor to implement their software..  god knows why they sent a juinor but her basically bricked the server i set up for them and their product....

there shall be a please explain, i'd never let them loose on our main prod servers this was a sandboxed prod server that if they got running then we connect it up and itegrate it, they did pass UAT previously.

For newer systems utilizing UEFI, running rm -rf / is enough to permanently brick your system. While it's a trivial command to run on Linux systems, Windows and other operating systems are also prone to this issue when using UEFI. The problem comes down to UEFI variables being mounted with read/write permissions and when recursively deleting everything, the UEFI variables get wiped too. Systemd developers have rejected mounting the EFI variables as read-only, since there are valid use-cases for writing to them. Mounting them read-only can also break other applications, so for now there is no good solution to avoid potentially bricking your system, but kernel developers are investigating the issue.

Above from slashdot.

we discovered this yesterday morning as a juinior unix dev was working on our production machines.. FML   rebuilding prod servers

it's ok new build again last night to align with the mobile releases numbering combining both streams of dev teams and fixing most known bugs in current fast rign releases and a ton of new Cortana functionality...

How do you get the Cortana working in NZ?

It keeps telling me my speech setting is wrong, even though it's set to English-US.

set regional to US as well..

make sure pretty much everything is US.

on my phone i did this as well and got it working , but had to change the display format back to NZ to get caller ID working and for the date tiems settign to work.

ROFLOL SHIT NET CODE

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016-02-01-the-division-beta-pc-players-are-giving-themselves-godlike-powers

so basically this console port can be hacked wide open on PC and pc players are godlike by increasign clientside stats which even makes them invisile server side, because their speed is too fast for netcode to calculate..    ROFUCKINGLOL

We are developers and sys admins we don't do any real work we script all that and spend the rest of the time playing.

I'm with the monkey.

Windows 10 is great, and stable if you stick to the mainstream releases.

The broken one xssanz is talking about is the fast ring of the insider program (basically it's an Alpha version)

The release cycle looks something like this:
MS build test group  -> MS Systems Group -> MS internal (everyone) -> Windows Insiders (Fast Ring) -> Windows Insiders (slow Ring) -> Current Branch -> Current Branch for Business -> Long Term Servicing Branch

The slowest two (CBB and LTSB) are only available to business/enterprise customers, CB is "normal" windows 10, WI(SR) is "public beta" and WI(FR) is "public alpha".

it's ok new build again last night to align with the mobile releases numbering combining both streams of dev teams and fixing most known bugs in current fast rign releases and a ton of new Cortana functionality...

Windows 7 updated itself to a point where it can no longer check for updates.

And of course being windows update, it takes like 20 sequential runs to actually update a machine, it can't do it all at once.

So now I've a half updated system with a broken update mechanism. And the microsoft methods of fixing this (for which there are more than FIVE) all result in ... the same state.

I managed to manually install the patch I needed to get the G15 drivers working though, so that's ok. Motherfucker can stay broken. Every time I run it it bleeds the system of RAM until the entire thing grinds to a hault.

Fuck windows.

try the latest fast ring windows 10 build.. games broken because you cant switch between windows and fullscreen mode which pretty much all games do at launcg, drivers and video stuff keep uninstalling and forgettign they even existed,  fun times.

Not played a space-sim. But they always look awesome. I might keep an eye on this, IF it has some sort of tutorial for those new to space-sims. The one thing that does put me off this genre is the massive grind the game can turn into and having your shit rekt by some rogue asshole.

Those ship models look bad-ass.

this is shaping up to be more fps in space wing commander style rather than ED which is just a mile wide but an inch deep grind and feels lonely
