THIS IS THE CORRECT BETA CLIENT. If you install others, you will run into battle eye issues and won't be able to play.

5. Click Launch Options and add "-beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion" without the quotes
6. Add any additional launch options you want such as -nosplash, -world=empty, -mod=@dayz


just testing this now, in theory if you add "-beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -mod=@dayz -nosplash" to the steam launch options, you should be right. Will confirm soon

So do the following:

    1. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\
    2. Rename ArmA2OA.exe or move it to a backup folder.
    3. Locate the beta ArmA2OA.exe in the \Expansion\beta folder, copy and paste it to the main folder where the original exe was.
    4. Open your Steam library, right click on ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead, and click Properties.
    5. Click Launch Options and add "-beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion" without the quotes
    6. Add any additional launch options you want such as -nosplash, -world=empty, -mod=@dayz
    7. Launch ARMA 2: OA as normal from Steam and enjoy.



just testing this now, in theory if you add "-beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -mod=@dayz -nosplash" to the steam launch options, you should be right.


Myself and Senor Bukkake confirm this as working the same as above launcher

It might be a case of having to roll back to 1.7.0... but then I think that had issues too... either way, from reading the DayZ forums 1.7.1.2 is broke.

fuck the hotfix.. i havent even been able to play the bloody game yet.

what -prefix launch options do you steam guys use...

i installed the beta but when i use the prefix options mentioned elsewhere the bloody thing crashes with a dx9 init error

Yeah, the couple that my group has, they had Nightvision + you can switch to thermal, have a laser on them and can also zoom...truly amazing sniper, but it's weird how it zooms in.

We had "some" stuff stashed in our vehicles, but majority of our best stuff was transferred into tents last night for a raid...so we got owned by this update...

Steep learning curve. My first day was 1.7.1.1 and meant there was no food or drinks spawning. Still just getting the hang of it. Finally making some headway now. Hatchets rock for starting out, silent, unlimited ammo and they smash over Zeds with ease but don't get mobbed.

1.7.1.5 is a very good fix, lots more animals roaming around now, and loots are working correctly again. Moving hatchet and flashlight to and from belt is good BUT you have to move your gun out of the position first or you WILL lose your ammo as the ammo disappearing problem is still around (sorry osi) :(

Also the loudness of crouch run is back to safe levels although the crouch isn't so stealthy as 1.6 so is a trade off

Osi has experience in the frustrations of forgetting a small step. I think that latest arma update has improved a few things, finding fps is better and inventory glitching is not so bad now, still some dirty hackers though ruining it.

Unfortunately guys I have been unsuccessful in saving our original ID's which is honestly retarded. DayZ changed how they assign servers and manage them during a working day so Orcon got in first and took NZ1-6. I placed a request with DayZ staff on the 4/7/12 and have only got an outcome today with the apparent NZ server numbers NZ7,15-20. I'm still pressing the issue but most likely won't have any luck. Until further notice the new GetSome numbers will be as follows

NZ1 = NZ15
NZ2 = NZ16
NZ7 = NZ17
NZ8 = NZ18
NZ9 = NZ19
NZ10 = NZ20

Having a break atm til more tent bugs are fixed and the cowardly d/c to avoid a fight issue is addressed (not til full release day by the looks).
My biggest problem is I place a tent and it turns into 4 or 5 scattered around about highlighting where I was storing stuff and then none of them actually contained any of the original saved gear.
Packing down tents every server restart is annoying as ****, was thinking of setting up a tent city with all the tents I have.

God damn this game was an absolute bitch for me last night, Steam was telling me that Arma needed to update, but the update was paused, and there was no way of resuming it. Took me four hours of trying before I gave up, then plugged my laptop into my monitor and played like that.

New Hive was released at the same time, red chain is desync between server and client though , yellow chain would relate to hive and client desync.

Server is running at 60% usage and network at 25% so blade isn't under stress.
