Interested to see how this comes out as BF4 is a total flop in terms of its competitive play.
Issue for me is, it looks like its all cloud based servers so don't know how well lil' old NZ with cope.

OH GOD. Say its not so.....
The thing that killed COD = Match making
It needs dedicated servers.
I'm keen as shit on this game, but also very wary. Call me cynical, but I think we've seen a lot of excitement for AAA titles that have just ended in farcical disappointment in recent years.
EA thou..... if anyone can fuck it up, EA can!
will it support mantle, I am so on the fence of cards, waiting for mantle real world tests to come out

Thats pretty much how I feel about The Division & Watch Dogs.
So much want.. so much fear..
EA is involved?
Oh well in that case, continue worrying.

Probably a good that I didn't waste my money on BF4 then.
Titanfall has been made by those guys from Infinity Ward.
Same guys who made Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
It was on my radar but the whole 6v6 thing dropped it way down.
are the system requirements out?
are the system requirements out?
Not announced as yet. Game Debate predicts game requirements when they're not out, and they say decent dual core with 4GB of RAM and a recent GPU (AMD 6000 series) (http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=8045&game=Titanfall).
Sounds like new GFX card time. 2 x 5850's just isn't cutting it anymore.

Really? It's super pretty for Source...
Would VDSL2 smooth over that problem?
I am assuming there would be AUS based cloud servers....
Great post Arseynimz
Cheers for linking that article. That should clear up a lot of peoples questions and restore a bit of faith.
However, Since I have not owned a gaming console since the late 1990s. I just have one question.
How well does the xBox cloud perform? Ping wise etc. Hopefully somebody can share their experience with the xBox cloud.
Cheers :)
That's the thing dude, the implementation of game servers on XBOX Live's "Cloud" is a new thing - no one can answer that until Titanfall. =\
Wow, so there is no Azure in NZ?!? >:(
Titanfall, the mech-based multiplayer game from Respawn Entertainment, will feature dedicated servers and local support for Australian players, the company’s community manager confirmed with games.on.net at E3 today.taken from http://games.on.net/2013/06/titanfall-confirms-dedicated-servers-local-australian-support-read-our-e3-impressions/ (http://games.on.net/2013/06/titanfall-confirms-dedicated-servers-local-australian-support-read-our-e3-impressions/) so depends how you interperet that sentance whether its dedi server and local support in aus or the has dedicated servers, oh and there will be local support in Australia.... looking into this now.

I want to kiss you on the mouth.
In other news: whats the best way to preorder to get beta? Origin?

I can tell you now Gliss, it's local support, and dedicated servers.
The server hosting is as has already been discussed, and EA is localised in Aus for Aus/NZ - we now have a disty only in NZ, but fortunately it's the same guys who work for that disty that worked for EA when they had local support here. Either way, we'll be damned sure we're close to the source of any goings on through our Get Some contacts 8)
Just had a meeting with the EA guys. The beta will be 100% open. No need to order if you don't want to - they have confidence and a lot of money behind this game. It's going to be a CoD killer they're predicting.
*crosses fingers*............ again...........
I hope it is the weekend of the 14th, wife is away so game on all weekend.

If anyone wants to test their ping to the Azure servers

Post your results...

When will the centre open? Nadella wouldn’t commit to a specific date. “There is no specific date set as yet. We have to announce our intent and then the projects get on the way.” With that said, it’s likely to be before the end of 2014: “Historically, within 12-18 months of an announcement we’ve been in that geography.”

Lies!!!!! :'(
No, I said local support (which it has out of both Aus and NZ), and dedicated servers (just the location of those servers is the issue...).Yeah sorry that should say "At Launch".
I am actively talking to the EA guys about this, and the local NZ disty as well. The good news is at least that the problem will be a giant one for Australia as well given the cable connection to Singapore is via Western Australia, so the ping time let alone the performance for anyone on the Eastern Border of Aus will be a giant clusterfuck. Of course, that just means it will be an even more giant, shall we say, titanic clusterfuck for us...
Pretty much not even going to bother unless/until it gets AEST servers
Probably a good that I didn't waste my money on BF4 then.

I got 80 hours out of bf4, so am happy enough.
All I get out of that thread is a giant "Fuck you Oceania" from Microsoft.
All I get out of that thread is a giant "Fuck you Oceania" from Microsoft.
Fixed.
In fairness to your original though, Respawn are hardly giving two fucks either, but ultimately where the servers are for the service they have decided to avail of/been sold is not really their choice.

I have to disagree Arsey.
Respawn have known for some time that MS can't/won't get an azure datacenter up in time for launch. They have chosen to continue down the path of only supporting Azure deployed servers rather than use an alternative cloud platform, or an alternative solution (RSP's, public server software, p2p games, etc) That mean's its entirely, 100% Respawn that are at fault.
*edit* I just checked, AWS have been offering Sydney services for about 15 months.. No reason whatsoever Respawn couldn't have built on AWS.
^ Looks like a copy pasted response to me.
They must be getting harassed by anzacs.
We are unique, special people who deserve your respect!
There’s a sort of foodie pub type place near the office where they make a cheeseburger not by placing cheese on a burger, but by ladling some kind of elixir over it. We asked what it was, and they said it was a mixture of beer and cheese. I nodded, slowly. Yes. I understood, now.
Titanfall is beer cheese. And once you’ve had it, other things feel like settling.
BF2143.
PS. Just because Ghost and I both have beards doesn't mean we are the same person Arsey. We are unique, special people who deserve your respect!
Being part of Blackwatch requires a beard, so one of those search criteria is redundant
I apologise for insinuating you were similar human beings. Just that I knew it was a bearded Wellingtonian on my Facebook who is also part of Blackwatch. Admittedly, this is still a broad search, but if I was Facebook searching "People I know who live in Wellington and who are part of Blackwatch and who have a beard" I'm pretty sure it would come up with just you two.
Screw you Lias with your questions that seem legit but trolling at the same time (https://www.facebook.com/NZGetSome)

It'd hard being this good :-P
When I saw the no dedicated server thing, plus AI in the game I decided I wouldn't even bother with the beta let alone buying the full game.
As for the Alpha comment, the game actually ran quite well. But in the end, the game is very meh.
Its that its only 6v6 and so much of the combat is padded out shooting bland AI. I don't play multiplayer FPS to shoot AI.

Completely this
Why the fuck are there AI bots at all?
Are we heading back to BF1942 here?
Surely if there is space for bots, they could be human players instead.
so iv it still 6 v 6 with bots?
is it free?
It's a Moba right? They're all free to play!

Err no..
It's an FPS
Fuck the smart pistol.
is it the CG of tittyflail?
