Trump didn't get elected because he's a great person or the best candidate. He got elected for the same reasons that Brexit happened, that the Pirate Party did so well in Iceland, why Le Pen and the FN are doing so well in the Polls, why Winston will likely be the kingmaker if not the PM in NZ next year. Because the majority of people are fed up with the system, and will seize any candidate who offers a realistic chance at change.

Hillary Clinton was a career politician, a pathological liar, and provably corrupt. She embodied "the establishment" in this election. Trump, despite running as a Republican is not one of them, he's an outsider still disliked by vast swathes of the Republican machine. Sure, some of the people that voted for him are just like him, but a whole lot more voted for him as a voice for change. The fact he has "no political experience" was a positive to the majority of voters.

You are wrong. Don't try to justify his election as anything but a campaign racism, misogyny, and bigotry.

Trump got elected because almost half of America are racist idiots.

Only an idiot can vote for trump, because he's an idiot himself. He doesn't even believe in science, he's a complete climate change denier, which is evidence enough of his complete stupidity.

Damn right he has no political experience, he is down right incompetent.

Yeah - I'm with Lias on this one.

They were both shitty candidates - one is someone who speaks his mind bluntly (and refreshingly so) - the other could be thrown into a snake pit full of vipers who would decline to bite - citing professional courtesy.

Meh - I jumped in, and they have barfed the Dog Fighting - Attack fighter and Air superiority fighter are woefully mismatched.

Technology & Hardware / Paying for my own Internet
« on: May 24, 2016, 10:31:24 am »
Normally, I have been the one to dish out ISP/WAN advice, however - my last 2 companies paid for my home internet as part of my perks, so It's been 9 years since I have had to pay for my own internet.

So I'm a little rusty.

Currently am with ICONZ (yes that ICONZ) as they were who my company provided my connection through, but it seems a bit steep $150/mo for Unlimited VDSL - however I genuinely don't know.

So who is good, what are the ball park figures etc.

I bumped into Fairy today - was awesome to have a quick catchup.

And Fairy earned some kudos points with my Wife by saying how much our Daughter looks like her.

Get a Team Speak channel or Mumble or Vent, get some mates who are a similar age - talk trash with them, not in the games global chat.

Not old, just active and fruitful loins.

Got my Alpha key - the Controls were AIDS to me, but the Game didn't feel fluid - maybe it was because it was an Alpha - hopefully will get access to a Beta release and have a hoon.

I am torn - the last game I pre-ordered and paid for I have barely played thanks to my World of Warships addiction, and this game is not set in space.

but it DOES remind me of the old Dune series, and the Homeworld team have produced 4 stunning games (yes I am counting the re-mastered additions separately because they look GORGEOUS)

I think I shall wait for a Steam sale.
