2x 24" for sure.

1920x1200 is easier to get decent gaming performance on (across all games) than 2560x1600 (or whatever it is).   To the point the 30" might just annoy you not being able to play everything smooth as.

not my whole setup but the inside of my pc. (Silverstone FT01)
half-assed cabling, I'd say the case is average for cabling due to the noise-dampening foam on the back panel taking up so much room in the back of the case.

I could never find a decent or big enough desk.

A while back I just made one,   A large sheet of 20mm MDF and a metal frame.

My current desk is just that, Galvanised steel framing and a huge formica topped top.

measures 2 metres wide by 1 metre long. and fuck me is it heavy

Yeah it's a Zalman 9900NT, sexy as heck, and not all that bad at cooling.

TBH it's as managed as the case will allow, ATX 24 ping, ATX +12v, PCIe 6-pin, SATA and 4-pin Molex cables are all factory sleeved and have been routed - the only additonal thing I could do is to sleeve the front panel stuff (USB, Audio and general FP coneectors), and can't really be assed with it.  That's really just a detail and the rig looks better than 99% of cases out there TBH, so meh.

p.s. apologise for hacking man

Dont' really need to - is one of the strengths of that case; I have the two fans at the top sucking air in, along with the one just forward of the GPU, but even that one's quite far off the carpet. Dust isn't too much of an issue thankfully.

The 9900 NT is a fair bit better than the 9700 NT yes, either would be ok for cooling a 3.0 GHz Q8200.

Intel Core i7 920
6GB DDR3 2000MHz
2x 150GB raptors
3x 500GB caviar
2x XFX GTX285 Black Edition
Asus P6TD Deluxe mobo
2x 22" samsung 226BW
Zalman CNPS10X Extreme

and the rest of my gears, went to insure all of it the other day, everything came to a grand total of just over $7500

Not amused with my side panel fan, one of the LEDs is half as bright. I need to get a cold cathode and a fan controller too.
Title: Show us your setup!
Post by: NZFez on January 14, 2010, 11:29:45 pm
ye I just pulled them out as the foam in the front does a good job at stopping dust, I also cut way the fixing for the filters so now there isn't anything in front of the fans but for the drive bay covers, i don't have any cathodes in my case as the blue tend to be a bit to light for my liking so I used two led strips which you can get from DSE for $13 and just converted their 12V plug to a molex :rnr:

Be careful with that.  Those bags are designed to direct any static current around the outside of the bag, keeping it away from the precious contents inside.  By placing said precious on top of the bag, you're exposing it to a bit of risk.

Interesting you said that cos i was a tad confused cos mine looks more like what i thought the megahalems looked like. Its alot lighter/silver'er irl than the flash on my camera makes it appear. I was hoping for a much more of a "shadowy" gleam.

My pet hate is that PCs always invovle cables every fuckin where. One day it will piss me off enough to do soemthing about it

It is indeed. It's horrible, but it works. It belongs to the Mrs. I lent my Linksys to a friend and she came back with money saying "thanks for the router".

Took apart my case and dusted it after 3 years of dust collecting and replaced the old 4850 with a new 6850. Spoilered cause of amount of pictures. Also flipped around my side panel intake fan so its now exhaust. Because it didn't have a filter and was responsible for most of the dust in there. Also redid some of my cables to make it more tidy. And wrapped some things in black tape to make them less noticeable. You cant see the small details in this pic but you can see the bottom of the case and the b/a tidyness. Tucked away alot of cables near the top too.

Yep, all gone now though. 2 of my 3 intake fans have foam and then dust filters too. So most of it was from the side fan with no filter. Which is now an exhaust fan haha.

My wee gaming hub, about to start building myself a desk this week with a sheet of 18mm MDF I picked up today, should be able to hold all of this plus 1 or 2 more monitors which are in the pipeline.

Now, time to finish off that last half litre of Canadian Club I have sitting on my desk :)

Nice. What sort of temps and overclock are you getting?

It lives at 4.6 24/7 with 1.33v,idles 35ish and seems to max around 55.I was  hoping for better temps as these are hardly better than the asetek dual rad kit i was using previously.

Iv  had this cpu at 5.4 really easy with the old cooler for the superPI  thread,im gona have another tinker during this week and see if i can get  abit more from it.

I think the pump in these xdpc kits are fairly average.I notice in your pics that your v put the cpu before the rad.I thought it was better to have the coolest water from the rad to the cpu?

Yours looks great with the clear coolant.

Post by: mycoolcar on January 15, 2012, 07:45:36 pm
My clear coolant is just distilled water :P

Loop order has no bearing on real world temps. This is because the water will eventually reach an equilibrium where all water in the loop is a similar temp, with the rad just removing heat as its generated. How long this takes depends on the amount of water in the loop. IMO more rad space would probably reduce your temps a bit further.

Picked up an H100, fans, and the Corsair fan extensions. Cam out pretty decently. Had to mod custom mounting brackets to the top for the H100.

I have a few more things to go, like removing the existing fan mounts at the top to get the fans flush and need 2 Slim line fans for the pull on the inside (not enough room for standard fans :()

^ I have done the same, specs to follow. Still unsure whether I want to upgrade my case from the CM Storm Scout to the Corsair Vengeance C70 in Olive Drab colour: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Corsair/Vengeance_C70/ (http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Corsair/Vengeance_C70/)

CPU: i7-4770k
Cooler: Corsair H80i
Mobo: Asus Sabertooth Z87 (fucking love this thing)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz 2x8GB
GFX: Still HD6970 2GB, happy with its performance for now
PSU: Corsair AX860
Case: CM Storm Scout (Considering a replacement)
SSD: Still my Crucial M4 120GB, running solid as
HDD: 7.5TB various

Will eventually be finishing my set up of an HTPC/Steam Box/Media Server:

CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 955 @ Stock w/ stock cooling
RAM: 8GB (4x2GB) G.skill DDR3
MOBO: Asus M4A89TD
GFX: AMD 5470 (Need to get something low- to mid-range NVIDIA for steambox)
PSU: Enermax Modu 82+ 620W
Case: Zalman HD501
SSD: OCZ Vertex
HDDS: Will build a new storage array for this, likely 3x3TB in RAID 5

Still unsure whether I want to upgrade my case from the CM Storm Scout to the Corsair Vengeance C70 in Olive Drab colour:

I have to... my R9 280x won't farken fit into the box with it (mainly as the mobo PCIe 3.0 won't recognise it so I need to plug it into the secondary 2.0 slot).

Still. Trying to get a z77 chipset mobo these days is kinda hard.

Second Hard Drive 120GB Intel 520 Series Solid State Drive
Primary Hard Drive 750GB 7200RPM
Ram 16GB - DDR3 1600MHz Dual Channel Memory

Ive a caddy for a second SSD for RAID, and in the process of sorcing a seconf 7970, although i have to take this one out to get the deets right so am putting it off. ( i shouldnt though as they wont be available soon...)

carry on...

weird my attachments seem upside down to me...anyways...

Sagers are bad ass.

When sourcing a second 7970, do you have to purchase a proprietary GPU that is made specifically for the Sager?
Title: Re: Show us your setup!
Post by: desertergreg on March 18, 2015, 11:43:41 am
I havent quite got that far, but it looks like it yes. Its a fucking pain, and expensive. as far as i can tell there is only one clevo/sager reseller who is based in europe. i found them on ebay. Clevo/sager themselves moved on pretty quick so cant get one from them...
Title: Re: Show us your setup!
Post by: desertergreg on March 18, 2015, 11:46:13 am
actually the other option is potentially getting a newer GPU or pair of GPU, but there would be the drama of making sure it would fit/work etc...

its not even like i need it, BF4 runs on High/Ultra with 50-60FPS...

Lols at the last on here...as per my last post, behold: a gtx970m to go into the sager after my 7970m died. And as predicted, it'll be a slight mission. Bios flash and possibly a vbios flash, so ima be a chicken and get experts to do it. Wish me luck...
Title: Re: Show us your setup!

Appears to do the job. I now have prema bios, a working gtx970m, with a modified driver. Runs cooler than my 7970m...
What do I do now I can run bf4 on ultra?

Added: doubles as a pussy warmer...
