I tried the Alpha that was available around E3 and was suitably impressed to go out and pre-order. Felt very Borderlands, gameplay wise, and the scenery was amazing.

Would love to, however I don't have any interest in playing new gen games on my current 360.
One day maybe.

The trailers make it look like a cross between mass effect and borderlands.

is it pve or pvp? both? have seen a bunch of ads for it, far that would be me if I had a ps4/xbox1

It's both PvE and PvP.
From what I've seen PvE is story missions that can be tackled as a group or separate free roam to do side missions and public events, which you can group up for as well. Then strikes and raids once you at the end game.
PvP seems to be multiplayer just like any other shooter. TDM and the like.

I caved and picked up a 360 copy today after seeing a side-by-side comparison with the Xbox One version. Graphics appear to hold up pretty well and look similar to Halo 4 quality.
Jut waiting for downloads and game content transfer to finish then my weekend is sorted.
Being a bachelor is awesome.

If it spawns a sequel or offshoot, will it be called Destiny's Child?

I caved in as well. Bought an XIM4, dusted off the PS3 and downloaded Destiny. Not bad, but the story is a bit light.
