Title: [BUG] Server is bork
Post by: Dabombber on June 06, 2014, 07:00:19 pm
Can walk through props, please fix. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sY_Yf4zz-yo#)

Also, the admining is a bit inconsistent. eg)

Quote
A person throws an incendiary grenade at another.
I call the thrower a traitor. I kill the thrower.
I get killed by another player.

No-one is punished.

Quote
A player shoots another player. (doesn't call them a traitor, shoots first)
I kill the shooter.

I get slain.

Yeah i'd imagine we need to find better maps, although with 3 maps all doing the same thing, maybe it is a cvar or something on the server :)

As for the admining, Personally I slay people who throw incend's if they cause damage to anyone, Also, while you probably always do, be sure to use the "!report" function otherwise sometimes RDM will go unnoticed.

As for the other example, it sounds like it was just an accident on the admin's part, If you think you're being unfairly slain, Tell the admins :)

To type in admin chat, put an @ in front of you message, e.g "@Why am I getting slain!"

The only problem with that, is if an admin says "You're being slain because of this, and that's not going to change" then it would be best to let it go. No one likes hearing arguments (especially Admins hahaha) as it just ends up being spam.

If it keeps happening, where you are slain for unfair reasons, then make a forum post (like you have), and everyone can look into it.
If it's just a one off occurrence, It's for the best to just let it go.

The problem is that most TTT maps are big files even when compressed some are 50mb + nobody wants to wait for that to download then wait for source engine to decompress it. So you will have to find maps that you think are suitable for the server and suggest them.

On a side note the walking through props thing is because they are CS:S props / objects. There are only a few props that don't have collide properties so it's not a major problem. But then there are also props that aren't CS:S and have no physics applied to them, you probably would have seen the floating health stations because of this the server makes the object a no collide prop and suspends them in air allowing you to walk through them. But its not hard to fix but will have to be done when the server is empty because it requires CS:S files to be mounted on the server.

These are the current maps that can be dropped on the server instantly. I have coded all of these to work but never got around to asking what maps people would like to play on. Yes there are allot more TTT maps that I have but these are the ones that are ready to go. Fell free to suggest any maps you find on the internet but play them first before suggesting them.

Quantum - we can do the whole fastDL thing, the webserver has 100MB national bandwidth so it can download the bz2 map files quite quick.

We have some 200Mb map files for TF2
