Title: CSGO Servers
Post by: Jamamio on May 23, 2013, 01:53:55 am
Just wondering if the CSGO servers are being kept up to date?

I have just got back into playing it and thought I'd come to these servers as this is where I spent all my time when playing source, but alas I cannot join the servers.

I get an error:

Invalid GetHostVersion(), expecting 12304, got 12232

I can only assume that this means the servers are out of date.

If that's the case, is there any way I can persuade someone to update them, because I for one will start using them. And with the whole bots thing that they have now, when one person joins then more will follow, and you have something to do until others get there! Yay for bots?

Ill look into it now. Try in 30 and let me know.

To be honest, no one has played them since i put them up, so i get slack on the updating.

Hopefully we can change that.

I'll try when I get home tonight!

The reason why no one plays on them is cause they havent been updated in such a long time. We had them quite popular for awhile, then a new update happened, and they werent updated for weeks, and so we lost all our players.

The most popular server is this australian one which is laggy as, and people constantly complain about it, but we had no alternative!

Close, but not quite

Invalid GetHostVersion(), expecting 12305, got 12304

That was for server 4
1-3 are offline.

You must be starting to think I'm a pain....sorry for the troubles, but I am still having some issues.

Server #1 - Seems OK
Server #2 - No go - err msg ([MM] Sending reservation request to 203.97.27.203:27025)
Server #3 - Seems OK
Server #4 - Connects, gets all the way to choosing sides then -  Unknown command: clientinpconfig                                                                                            Disconnect: Your client has failed to authorize in time.  Please reconnect or restart your game.

The error on server 2 may have something to do with the file gamemodes_server.txt (or so google tells me)
and I have no idea what the error is on server 4

I hate to be a pain, but I'd really like to start playing on the servers, and maybe even get some people back on GetSome-CSGO

Well, all three seem to work now....but (please don't hate me). They're all competitive servers, which means no bots. This may be what you wanted, but I think at least 1 with bots would be good, cause at least you can play when there's no one else on the server. I just think it would help to get the servers populated again.

Sounds fine to me.

I made them comp because the maps are better.

I think i can put bots in them tho

Can I suggest 1 casual and 1 competitive?

Think he means _se maps rather than comp vs casual. Why did valve remove the se servers from their standard list?

So any chance one of the servers will be changed to casual today? Or is it a weekday job (I'm not sure how hard it is).

I think your region is wrong, I cleared all filters and they show up in the master list.

It's set to -1

Should be 5

for australia/nz

Thanks for all the work to get the servers going.

I have a request or two if you'd like to hear them. Or, you may just be sick of me now.

Let me know, I'm happy to help to try and get the servers populated again :)

Well seeing as the admins haven't told me to piss off yet, I'll throw in a couple of more requests/fixes.

Server 1 is dust 2 only, yet it gives the option to vote at the end of each match, then proceeds to ignore your vote. Also, the votes aren't limited to just the defuse maps, like its name suggests.
My recommendation would be to make it rotate through the maps. The voting system removes the need to have a 24/7 server, because it will go to whatever maps the people on it want to play on. (If they want to keep playing dust 2, they can vote for it).
Next, either have a separate hostage map server, or combine them onto one that just goes where it's voted to (this is my preference).
I would also look at extending the rounds to 21 to give more time on a map. Sometimes the games can just go too quick to enjoy the map.

21 rounds is a fuck load lol? unless youre meaning like first to 11 wins?

The vote thing is bung on every server...I dont think its a plugin but a developer thing...

not that ive been on in awhile....neverwinter nights has kept me entertained for the past week haha

Yeah, I only meant first to 11 wins. I just find that 15 rounds can be too quick sometimes.

Any chance of getting these changes implemented?

The few times I've been on with other people, I've noticed that they only stick around for a couple of matches because the map doesn't change.

100% this, not hard to get a server populated, but people want diff maps!

Map rotation working, map voting at end of round not. But at least it's changing map!

Post by: Jamamio on June 07, 2013, 07:04:37 pm
I wonder if the vote time might be too long. I notice that it doesn't enter the vote until the last few seconds.

This is just my theory, but I think the votemap has to be complete early enough for the vote to register, if there isn't enough time between the vote and the switch, then the vote doesn't count.

And I've noticed on GetSome it's about a 15 sec vote time.

Osiris might be able to fix that, tbh CSGO fucked up with server config, its way way way too overly complex.
