I may be keen but won't know how much spare money I got for a few weeks, If it's still for sale then I'll know more.

Reading back through the last page and remembered about Well of Souls (http://www.synthetic-reality.com/wosHome.htm) I played this, I don't know when but it was on dial-up and ages ago.

54
My first online game was probably Ultima Online, I think I played for about three weeks but my dial-up was so bad I kept losing connection and lagging too much to play. The first game I could actually play online without lagging out was Command & Conquer renegade around 2002ish I think. Come to think of it I played a bit of Quake online on the school computers, that would have been about 2000.
I also remember having some good times playing all nighters at Battlelink in town was about $15-20 for the 10pm to 6am session iirc.

agree, it seems rather silly all the attention it's getting now.

I have noticed you have titled it "Competition" to buy the PC, so is it the case where we all compete in an tournament and the winners win the right to place a bid?

Yea, I feel that it is not just a re-skin of BF4, it feels more different to play and it's more fun(at the moment). Maybe I'm influenced by less time gaming than I used to do or something. Also I do like how the weapons are limited to specific classes now.
I also agree with Woomanchu, it does kinda have a bad company 2 feel to it.

I've been so busy all I've had time to do is finish the campaign so far, actually not bad but the "freeze" mechanic is very overpowered. Basically went through the final mission arresting everyone and hardly fired a shot. To mix thinks up I played one mission where I equipped a silenced bolt action sniper rifle, do headshots, and see how many dudes I can kill without anyone noticing (spoiler: heaps), If you're quick enough you can take out two guys standing next to each other before the other guy raises the alarm.

Yea if anyone knows where to get a good deal for hardline I'd be keen to know, I won't be paying full price when it comes out I'll buy once it's discounted.

People who continue to drive slow after passing an accident on the motorway. It annoys me when people still trundle along at 40kph when there are huge gaps in front of them. Meanwhile I'm accelerating back up to 80.

but get to a passing lane and they do 120kmh so you cant pass then slow down....

Fuck, that ruins me. People who speed up coming up to a passing lane. It's some stupid switch that fires inside a drivers head where they decide to go faster for no reason. If people are lining up behind me on an open road (while I'm going 100kph) and there's a passing lane, I will actually drop back down to 90kph to make the passing safer.

I was at this NZTA focus group and the NZTA guy mentioned this, he said that as the road widens for the passing lane subconsciously drivers speed up due to the widening of the road(or something like that, was ages ago), also occurs in the transition from regular sized 100kph roads to motorways.

I'd probably sell off my old card once I get it upgraded, but it will take me a while to save up enough to get a new card. I currently have a Coolermaster  V6GT cooler on my CPU, would that be enough cooling to overclock it? As purchasing anything will be about 3 or 4 weeks away.

OK, I'll look into that, I've never overclocked anything before, can you point me to a good step by step guide?

I've just got myself a 144Hz monitor and now I need to beef up my GFX and probably my memory.
Currently Ive got:
Mobo: GA-Z68XP-UD4
CPU i5 2500k 3.3Ghz
Gfx: ATI 6950 2Gb
RAM: 8Gb DD3 1600Mhz
SSD: Samsung 840 Evo 250GB
OS: Win 7 Pro
Just bought a AOC G2460PQU 144HZ 24" monitor

Upon checking the specs for my mobo on gigabytes website it is compatible with up to 2133Mhz, so I take it it would be best to get as fast as I'm able to? If so was checking pricespy and saw these two as popular choices:
http://www.pcforce.co.nz/gskill-ares-16gb-2x8gb-ddr3-1866mhz-pc3-14900-low-profile-f31866c10d16gab-p-3303.html
https://www.mightyape.co.nz/product/2x8GB-Adata-XPG-Extreme-Series-2133MHz-DDR3/21720909

In terms of graphics card upgrade, what sort of card will push my fps up to where it needs to be? and what kind of fps should I be looking to get to? I currently get 40fps in BF4 on high settings and 60fps on low. Is it my system RAM, video RAM or both that is holding me back?

As you can see I did soooo much research spending my Christmas money buying a new monitor. Though first impressions it looks pretty nice.

I like how in the middle pane of that comic the purple one suddenly has two arms(tentacles?) on his right side and only one the the other two panes.

I got a 47" LG smart TV a few months ago ($950 on special) and the picture quality is great and I agree with xeno the interface is quite good. The one thing I don't like about it is that you cant watch streaming videos via the web browser on it as I tried to get streaming cricket via crictime.com but I read it only has shockwave flash version 8 on it, maybe it will get updated via one of the OS updates? but it does have a dedicated youtube app and twitch streams fine (maybe HTML5 streaming?). Overall I'm happy with it, I have "smartshare" on my computer which does the DLNA thing so I can watch stuff on the TV from my computer.
