If SA got 350 off 50 the RRPO would be 7.01, the DL set a RRPO at 6.98.

Bugger all difference. The only advantage of 350+ is that it looks bigger.

Fielding errors were the difference.

Batting 7 less overs is a huge advantage, given the same amount of wickets. Aus vs SL was a great example of how hard it is the maintain the rate over a sustained period.

That being said, can't take away from NZ win which was great. And from the way they played, they probably could of chased 350 off the 50 overs. Seemed to show Duminy/AB way too much respect, when the game was set for a final assault. But I guess that is just nerves.

TBH, the D/L didn't screw South Africa. 298 is a huge total to chase in 43 overs.

Not sure D/L is really setup to take account of the ridiculous high scoring that goes in the in the last 15 overs now, after they changed the rules. I think SA would of much preferred playing out the innings and putting up 350+.

I did enjoy the Mither Mages series. Written by Orson Scott Card (who wrote ender game series). Only 2 of the 3 books are out though, so you get left on a cliffhanger of sorts.

Thought I would post this here.

Has a lot of interesting posts about concurrency in c#. Was quite good at bringing me up to speed with async and Tasks, after realising i was stuck in the 90s with my Thread & Backgroundworker usage.

Published order is the best. Maybe read Ender's Shadow straight after Ender's Game, since they are somewhat similar in style and such.

That being said, the sequels to Ender's Game (the non-shadow series stuff) are a bit different in tone to Enders Game. But its worth pushing through the odd start of Speaker of the Dead, because its quite a good book. I actually found the sequels more enjoyable than the shadow series.

I think its more live betting. Like there are bets on who is the next man out, or method of dismissal etc. So if you are quick enough, you can get the bet in before they suspend the betting (because someone has got out so they need to update the odds).

What kind of media machines do you have? I am looking at something which would be good to throw a few TV capture cards in, and use it over a normal PVR.

I ended up making an account to have a look. The information they provide you isn't too bad:

I assume that is part of the risk, and part of the hit on your ROR. An A grade loan goes from 0.08% to 0.27% default rate, so I imagine if you diversify your loans well (say across 50 loans) you would be safe.. They also seem to have third party collection agencies, and they offer reduced interest on secured loans, so there is a little bit of backing before someone can bail out on the loan.

My biggest concern is
Quote
Harmoney does not attempt to certify the ability of a potential Borrower to service any specific loans. However, Harmoney does make an assessment of the affordability of a loan for a potential Borrower based on the verified financial data provided by the potential Borrower, including income, expenses and debt servicing information.

So I guess you could get screwed over by someone who on paper looks safe, but can't correctly manage the repayment on the loan.

Came across this after Trademe invested some money into it, and sent me a email about it. Pretty much a peer to peer lending platform for NZ.

Looking at their interest rates (https://www.harmoney.com/how-it-works/interest-rates-fees) it seems like it gives a reasonably decent returns, but its a bit hard to gauge the true meaning of this risk gauge system. Another P2P site seems to have a similar system, but said its down to a proprietary model.

Anyone invested any money with these guys?

If i could jump in for a semi hijack. Anyone know whats one of the cheaper routes to fly from europe to canda? Will initially be in holland, but likely to travel around a bit, so could tack it off any destination reasonably close to holland.

Am I the only person who gets into a very unhealthy state of rage when ever I read facebook comments about anything even remotely "political".

https://www.facebook.com/3news/posts/10152870146043606

The fact that a woman can say "3 out of these 4 men were going to rape her" and not get a single bit of shit for that, but the minute anyone says something with the gender roles reversed, your comment is either shamed for being in favour of males, in favour of rape, in favour of blaming the victim, or in favour of not being written with zero thought.

DON'T WORRY GIRLS. THE VIDEO IS FAKE. YOU CAN REST EASY. 3 OUT OF 4 GUYS ARE NOT GOING TO RAPE YOU. WE MAY ONLY BE SUB HUMAN BUT WE STILL AREN'T THAT BAD.

Supposedly the video is fake. Guys in it are all actors (which is probably why they dont have their face blurred).

My point wasn't "Why do we have a tetanus vaccine"
I completely understand having it prior to the fact, at scheduled intervals, to build immunity..

What I was saying was, it's quite common practice for people to be administered the vaccine, after they have been exposed to the real thing, (e.g. going to hospital after impaling yourself on a rusty nail) and I was wondering how that was actually helpful.. "Oh you have been infected with tetanus, here, have more dead tetanus"

I was genuinely interested if anyone had any insight into the reasoning behind that practice, because it doesn't make sense to me.

I did some googling, because that is an interesting question. Only thing i could find, was the live version of the tetanus effects antibody production, so the real tetanus won't produce a response. But that was just one source, and i got sick of googling.

I think they should raise the limit to $110. When I fill up my car I usually spend between $80 and $110, it would be great if I didn't need to put my PIN in.

Good enough for me. And Visa still would cover you for any fraud. So there is no issue.

Yea I find i have the same issue where i think its gone through, but then it asks for a pin because its $81.94 or someshit.

Personally I have found expedia the best. They seem to usually give me the cheapest prices (when I do my own googling on top of what they give me), and its nice to have an english company to deal with, when you are booking tickets while overseas.

lower turnout this year.

Really?
Fuck'n... derp.

By lower turnout, I mean at the place i went to. About 150 less people this year. Probably didn't make that clear.

yea my voting took 2 mins, I must have avoided the busy times

Same here, and i went at 11am, which was meant to be in the busy times. Then again, lower turnout this year.

National really cleaned up in the party votes across the electorates. Looks like they won pretty much everything except south auckland (no surprises), and Dunedin (and that was a 28 vote win).  I kinda knew national would win again, but I am surprised that they won so comfortably. Also no fucking clue why epsom keeps voting ACT.

I voted for the legalise weed party as they seem to be the only party that is honest about what they're going to do.
Wasted vote really.

I am still unsure who to vote for. Internet-mana seem the obvious vote because of how unappealing the other parties are. Yet it seems safer to put my vote into the labour-green corner, to stop national.
