I'm not trolling.

This thread is a show and tell thread.

Have you spotted, ANYWHERE, a critique post in this thread?

Your post, all be it informative, was not needed. No one asked to be so arrogantly judged.

Self-righteous punk.

It wasn't "arrogantly" judged at all, it was advice offered to people who obviously need it. And really, you're name calling again? Grow up... If anyone here is self-righteous, you stink of it. If you look up the definition, it described you to a T.

It wasn't a "you could do better" post, it was there to give people a gateway to helping themselves improve through research and theory, I went through a lot of this thread and noticed almost no one actually knows how to take a photograph beyond setting the exposure and clicking the button.

You know what, for the people who want to improve, they'll take what I gave and go research and get better, people like Swindle who will continue putting their subjects in the center of their image and think having all their gear makes them a photographer when they can't compose an image, and insults people who offer constructive feedback from an educated viewpoint (something you guys lacked when trying to critique my work, constant source of frustration, and you guys were so emotionally attached to your opinions), and people like rii who doesn't even require a description (speaks for himself)... Well, I'll leave you to your picture thread, keep posting mediocrity (I've seen one maybe two posters who know what they are doing).

And I leave you with this: Why even post your work if you don't want constructive feedback? That's the entire reason for posting it. The only other reason people post it in a place like this is to get praise from people who don't know better. There are some people around here who actually know the subjects you are trying to pursue.

Nope, no arrogance there.

Arrogance is generally the way we portray ourselves, I was, excuse the incorrect way of saying this, portraying other people.

So... rii, scunner, swindle... STOP trying to start a fight, and maybe consider the fact I was trying to help others and you can all stop trying to twist my words into what they aren't. If you put your work ANYWHERE, someone is going to critique it whether you like it or not, if it's too much for you on an online forum then your ego is ruining your ability to improve, and you wont survive in the real world.

And since I've contributed nothing, here's a few. They have issues that I realized later, some were shot for compositional practice, some for learning metering, they're pretty much the first photo's I've taken but you can still see the underlying compositional techniques and what not. Feel free to rip them to shreds, I won't care in the least what people say, and if they say something constructive (something that is alien to this forum) then I'll take it on board.

Trying to get the money together for a Canon EOS 500D.

These were shot on a Canon EOS 1000D.

The bike, "lunch and dinner cruises" boat shot (first two), are both straight from camera, rest are processed from raws.

Edit: looks like I made a mistake using attachments, the quality is pretty much gone. Oh well.

I like the first one you've got there, Azzura... water fall near a power point, diagonal lines representing movement in the rapids, and nicely exposed given the conditions. Would be an amazing shot if you could get a tiny bit of fill into the shadows where they're losing detail and what's that white thing that looks as if it's sitting on the edge of the frame? If you cropped it even a tiny bit so it looked like it was cut off by the frame rather than sitting on it, the entire composition would sit much better.

3 hours, 60 photos, 2 to show. Shooting at night without a tripod, mind you I shoot in RAW so I've modified the light temperature to give a better feel to the scene, still skeptical about the mount hobson one because the lights are on like it's night time yet it has a warm sunny feel ;D People will either notice it instantly or maybe not at all if they're untrained.... IDK.

Thnks Oddball and Spork. I have been using basic PP on them. Once we get our stuff out of storage...and my computer chair, I won't mind sitting for extend periods for Photoshop.

Oddball that floating white on the right side is white foam from waterfall...your right though I should crop it out. One thing I noticed on your second shot of Rangitoto (I think it is), check that your horizon is level. Looks go though mate....thanks for pointing out the white bit on mine. I used the multiple exposure feature in the D300 for the waterfall....it is 10 shots merged together, I love this feature now.

The shot looks better now :)

I love doing that too, but currently... no tripod :/ I've actually been shooting at night without one :(

cool dog... the crack in the wall looks like it needs a clone stamp though :P you look at the dog and the line leads you out of the photograph, also looks like it's connected to his head.

The DOF is enough to keep me in the middle, considering the crack also turns up on the other side of the dog. Somewhat cancels it out.
