Why not just download the evaluation version?

Otherwise it's $50 till the end of this month.

If I do the upgrade, do I have to just install it over the top of my existing windows? can  I not download an ISO, burn it to a disk, and install it later... ( I assume not as its an upgrade) I just 1, would like a cd, 2 would like a cd key as I might install, reinstall etc etc

You can burn it to a dvd. See 'Install by creating media'
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-NZ/windows-8/install#1TC=t1

As for installing it, the website says it needs to be installed on a computer already running windows, however it can be installed on another drive, so you can dual boot.

I've been using Win8 on my HTPC for a few months now. I've found it easier to naviagate then when I was using Windows 7. Everything is bigger so it's easy to see from the couch.

UnoDNS , it's simple, just set the DNS server in the connection settings. $6 a month.

VPN would work as well.

Also, I use this to pay for it.
http://www.entropay.com/

Acts just like a US Visa debit card, which Netflix will accept. And I can use my NZ card to top it up.
