fucking what bahahahhahaha uh huh smh

The Electronic Sports League (ESL) is planning to start policing the use of performance-enhancing drugs, in the wake of revelations about a team using drugs to help improved concentration at an ESL tournament.

Last week, professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player Cory "Semphis" Friesen admitted that he and other members of his former team, Cloud9, used a psychostimulant during a $250,000 ESL tournament in Poland back in March. "I don't even care. We were all on Adderall," Friesen said in an interview "It was pretty obvious if you listened to the comms. People can hate it or whatever."

Adderall is a drug similar to Ritalin, typically used to treat attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD) and often abused by people that need to stay concentrated for extended periods of time.

This is against the ESL rulebook, which states that "to play a match, be it online or offline, under the influence of any drugs, alcohol, or other performance enhancers is strictly prohibited, and may be punished with exclusion." However, the league currently doesn't drug test players.

However, this looks like it will be changing. In an email sent to Motherboard, the league's head of communications, Anna Rozwandowicz, said that the ESL has "taken steps to move forward with drugs policing, education, and prevention among participants of [its] competitions." Specific details will be outlined soon.

Regardless of Friesen's admission, he and the rest of Cloud9 won't be punished. "We have no way of knowing whether Semphis, despite what he said, has actually taken Adderall or not," Rozwandowicz said. "We can't punish someone if we are not 100 per cent sure he is guilty. And as we have no way to test it anymore (we're four months after the event), we won't take action in this specific case."

Unless they introduce a rule where players MUST be on stimulants. I would watch the fuck out of that.

I kind of think that's how they could fix Formula 1, "YOU HAVE 20,000kW, THE FINISH LINE IS 400Km AWAY, GET THERE BEFORE THE OTHER CUNTS"

Frankie Boyle has a great line on this:

Quote
Would you rather watch a sprinter run 100m in 9.90 seconds, or would you rather watch a sprinter run 100m in 3.2 seconds?

So yes, all sports should have a clean and a drugged up version
