Hey chaps, Looking at upgrading GFX to the GTX970, would anyone be keen on grabbing my current card? Asus HD6970 2GB, ~3 years old, still going strong can handle pretty much anything thrown at it, only upgrading to futureproof/complete my build from 18 months ago http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/EAH69702DI2S2GD5/Probably looking at around the $150-$200 mark at this point, haven't really checked prices on these second hand yet so open to realistic offers Anyone keen? EDIT: Now for sale, $160 + shipping

Article already states the merger of the call centers and offices..
Was going to ignore your misinformed/speculative posts in this thread until I saw this. Nowhere at all has there been any mention of the contact centres merging. ~30 2D staff will be moving in to the CHCH Snap office, and I'm pretty sure they aren't call centre related. Snap aren't taking any 2D staff in to the Snap broadband helpdesk, and neither is the opposite happening. Obv can't say too much, but its BAU. No changes have been made, no changes are going to be made in ages as that shit takes time. You never know, 2D could end up taking a lot of customer service related learnings from us and upping their game massively. Shit house begins.. also snap have known this was coming as they havent been agile enough with their pricing changes in the last 6 months to be competitive.
Yeah, whatever. Its not all about being cheapest, its about best product, best value for money, and most of all best service, and our satisfaction ratings on those three points are market leading Enjoy Spark

24 hours of non-stop gaming was a bit much for her to handle. Weak. Someone teach these kids how to LAN Edit: Also: Because of piracy, most games today need to be authenticated, so having a fast connection is really important Umm, its because of piracy (not authentication) that LANs have fast internet, pal.

Gotta love corporate censorship....
How much of it is censorship versus marketing ?
I bet more over-protective parents shop at the Warehouse than gamers. If this means more business for the Warehouse then the no r18 policy is a smart one to pursue that is rewarded by consumers in a market. I doubt they make much money from DVDs and games these days.
Marketing or Censorship - whichever the perspective, the net result is the same - a Company deciding to remove my ability to purchase an item that I am legally entitled to purchase, thereby artificially restricting my choice.
Which I think sucks the hairy fat cock
There is a fundamental difference in state censorship versus private censorship.
State censorship undermines freedom of expression and information: it is an active subversion the citizen's ability to do something.
Private censorship, in this particular instance, is passive. The Warehouse is not stopping you from purchasing an item you are 'legally entitled to purchase' in general terms.
The Warehouse, unlike the State, is actually unable to remove your ability to purchase R18 games or media because it operates in a competitive market. Part of the the market is incentivising the Warehouse to stop selling these games. Another part of the market is incentivising it's competitors to keep selling these games. You are more than able to take your money elsewhere. The Warehouse is not limiting your freedom at all. On the contrary, if you were to argue that the Warehouse should not be able to choose which products it does or does not sell, you would be limiting its freedom.
The issue worth pursuing is probably not to do with the Warehouse but more to do with the what is clearly a strongly-held view in some segment of the population that r18 content poses some danger to their concept of the moral society.
Also, for those confused... The thread says "don't bother shopping at", not "lets boycott". Subtle differences in the English language I know, but if you study hard you too could make it to this level of understanding.
I think the problem is that 'don't bother' infers that I would ever actually bother to shop at the Warehouse for these items. I'm confident that the overwhelming bulk of Warehouse sales are not comprised of, and thefore affected by this ban on, r18 items.
Nail, meet head

the thing is, its not just this thread, its just about every thread that gets filled up with the crap, the really shitty fixed jokes, the spamming of useless comments. just keep on rehashing the same stuff though, it doesn't get old at all.
I'm getting shitty in my old age, but this place has definitely gone way downhill in terms of content. You can say its nothing like GP, but it's getting there
Sure a few of regulars didn't come back after the change, but a lot also did, and have since buggered off elsewhere cause it's been shit. Others (such as myself) have been absent as hell, and are left wondering why we bother coming back for any other reason other than boredom

It's not just female gamers being discouraged from browsing this place, it's adults.
Fuck, I'm agreeing with Zarkov... This place has seriously gone downhill, combination of the crap shitting up this thread (among many others), all the GMod stuff and the lack of any actual games worth playing. The kind of stuff exhibited in this thread is definitely a big, if not the biggest, factor behind the extinction of the former regulars...
