To be fair he first notified Mojang in July 2013, that's more than enough time for them to do something about it. Microsoft and Google give companies 14 days before they make stuff public.

A patch has now been released for this issue

I guess sometimes that's the only way to get something done..

most mods had patched around this  while ago
