Anyway, I got my bits today and put them all together, and to my amazement it booted up and installed everything necessary all by itself (win eight). I couldn't resist trying it out to see what it all did, I will do a clean win install when I get an SSD soon. My FPS went from 20-30 with ultra settings to a constant 60, the smoothness is amazing, I still suck but at least I can see the guy killing me now and it looks real purty. More than happy with the upgrade! :)

All good except the fan noise is quite marked, it fluctuates during game play quite a bit. Not too good as the computer is in the lounge.

Any suggestions as to an aftermarket cooler that runs nice and quiet and not too expensive. I had a quick look and my eyes glassed over as there were so many at such different prices.

The ability to set up a fan speed profile makes them pretty good for noise control, but then I always figure your CPU loop is never going to be the issue when you compare it to GPU fan noise!
