google glass is 1 trillion gigatonnes cooler.  & whats the point ...
"I don't have to get my phone out" you still have to make almost the exact same movement, but with some lump of tech strapped to your arm. you'll still have to use the other hand to select what you want to see, or if its a message you want to reply to, get out your phone!

General Chat / I played a game I liked!
« on: March 06, 2013, 11:53:11 am »
Mark of the Ninja.. was pretty cool. stealthy but not retarded "you were spotted ...game over"

smooth gameplay, nothing too fiddly, and like $5 on steam. Nice variety, enemies / map layout very open options (kill everything or nothing or just the ones in your way.)

Downsides, the  controls are console ish in orientation, but the mouse can play a nice role, so you can overlook that mostly. It's kinda short, but it does have good replayability, better scores can always be had, special achievements are fun, and unlocks give new and interesting ways to deal with problems.

General Chat / Minimum wage @ $18 per hour?
« on: February 22, 2013, 08:09:52 pm »
That number (1 in 1650) might rise with some responsibility forced unto the masses. As for demons argument. Thats kind of the point, you get paid what your worth. If you have the ability to take a business's core away, it's in the interests of that business to pay you, and keep you.

It gels well with my dislike of a 'business entity' having a status & rights seemingly on par with people, and if reaching corporate levels well above a person.

So people would get paid for their knowledge, and skills. I don't see a problem with that

It'd give everyone an eye opening realisation of what it takes to be in business an destroy the "you can afford more, give me more wages" mentality of morons.

What a bunch of retards. Profitable businesses are often competing with others that may  not be local, if your business is competing with one based in a country with a lower wage, and wages here are normally the largest expense a business has, then it stands to reason you can't compete very well. As for the line "if they can't afford to pay more wages then they don't deserve to exist" How does  that conclusion benefit anyone? One less business many jobs gone. but hey thats better right ?

I own a business, all my clients are businesses, and all a minimum wage increase will do is get people laid off/ businesses closed, some numpty fecks doing economy at uni seem to forget the recession hasn't gone anywhere. Last year saw a number of business owners close the doors as the owners were just working long hours  for nothing.

What we should do is get rid of wage earners, and everyone should be  a self employed contractor, therefore taking responsibility for their own income.

The law masters were a disgrace. Even stallone versions bikes were better (And the ABC warrior saved that movie, imo)

Otherwise good film. Look forward to stories in sequels rather than TV episode content of this. I could see great potential with Chopper, that'd be cooler than any pod racer scene.

I'll just put the FAIL stamp on the ink pad, in anticipation. Thunderbirds was cool in a quirky way, theres no way I can imagine it working now, any more than I could see a punch and judy remake taking the world by storm.

Well you should be here now, if you were driving a corvette 01, because it's THAT FAST, and never needs to stop for fuel. Faster than a helicopter they claim,
Spoiler :
and yet follow it for the first 1/4 of the movie with one. And imagine how much more covenient it would have been to not have to build a bridge.

Well I didn't get a bite, watching last stand now :)

Spoiler :
Hmm 39 minutes into it and I'm wondering why the police aren't using thermal imaging.

53 Minutes apparently the baddies corvette  is made out of some space age undentable material when it drives head on (after driving in reverse as fast as it goes forward) into a SUV.

TV, Movies & Music / Django Unchained
« on: February 03, 2013, 08:26:45 pm »
As soon as the main character (as far as I was concerned) died the movie should have rolled credits, screw django and his stupid bitch ass revenge that was never worth making a movie about.

One of these people was amazingly awesome, the other is Jamie Foxx.

General Chat / Gareth Morgan and Cats
« on: February 03, 2013, 08:11:48 pm »
How many people have been killed by cats? And Vs dogs? And when people aren't killed by dogs theres all those attacks that are a burden on our health and ACC system with many claims every year resulting from dog attacks.

Only an idiot would think hunting dogs don't attack kiwi, they have special aversion courses for dogs (with very mixed results!) to protect kiwi.

Feral cats have a preference for rats and other vermin (like rabbits) over birds, effective protecting them from the most prevalent of predators.

And even if everything Gareth Morgan says is true, no I don't want more birds of any sort, bird shit is revolting and is everywhere already. Then theres the health risks bird flu, etc.
