There was a top ten program on a while ago that did this...and they got it waaay better than that PoS site. The Rail Gun from Quake should be in there as should the BFG. And wtf is up with the chess piece in a top ten VIDEO games.

I think the gravity guns pretty up there. It bought a whole new way to playing the game, and a whole new of how you think. They did a Top10 Weapons on good game.

remember the cerebral bore well.
Other one was the Samurai Sword from Blood and Blood 2. Much fun to be had cutting heads/bodies apart with that. Too bad GTA:Vice City did such a shit job of it when they put it in.

actually now that i think about it - the weapon that gave me the best laugh was the laser mine thing in Half Life 1
you put it on the wall and it put a beam across - and if you tripped the beam it blew up.
but the funniest part was one day me and my mates were having a lan game and i stuck one of these things on another players fore head. it was just the most commical thing i have ever seen - he was running around with this laser beam sticking out of his head.
i actually wet myself laughing that day.

Yeah but it was shit slow, so even a pretty poorly aimed pulse canon shot would bring it down.
I remember we once fired up a server at a lan with instagib all weapons.....
UT99 is still a well potent game.

UT99 is still a well potent game.
Just as Q3A is still raging strong (well... QL these days), so should UT be. It's far better than most others around today even.

and yet I remember vividly the flak cannon, the goo gun, and the guided nuke - and perhaps weirdly, the one thing that I remember the most and used sparingly was the feint :(

Yeah i used to play on the nz ut ctf servers religiously as 'On INC' then later as that narli warcow called 'Cowwiestyle'.
People i can remember off my head, Evenflow, SteelRat, PinkPantha,Payback, these dodgy [SS] brothers who i used to think who hacked and that mysterious 'character'(kid?) who used to spend whole rounds on the nz ctf servers just camping the redeemer spawn spots and sucking badly at UT in general.

Nostalgia, always got sniped right in front of the doorway with the flag. This was the only game we could get working on the low specd PCs at primary.

I tended to grab the flag then go through the teleporter to the top and drop down the side of the building half way, hide then jump down and hot tail it across the map/inside when the timing was right.

Well, on pc all I used to play was goldeneye which owned in its day, so many hours of fun !! But ya UT was my first "real" fps game.

Kind of hard to believe!?, i briefly chatted to him when bf3 came out, hes on my battlelog friends list for bf3, he used to play on aussie servers i think.
Id log on to battle log and give out his id alas id rather not go through the hassle of loging in.
