Hi everybody!
My flatmate just got one of these messages from google.
We thought it might have been his cellphone signing in, but it turns out to be from an attack site in China.
I have never had this happen to me yet and was wondering: Had anyone else had had this happen?
-
Yup, had this happen once before, someone from Mexico apparently tried to sign in to my account, but Gmail blocked it; Never happened since. Your flatmate shouldn't worry too much as long as it's not a recurring thing.
-
Had it happen to my facebook account years ago. (wow, facebook is old now)
-
It was me, i'm always hacking into your guys google accounts.
However this time I was careless and got blocked.
-
Had a message on gmail once saying someone from China tried to log in but was blocked.
When I went to USA and signed in on my laptop, it asked me a couple of security questions before it would let me in. Googles does wells.
-
Yea I like the creepy yet useful security features that question why a user that normally signs in from New Zealand is suddenly, hours later, signing in from a different country.
-
I had my hotmail account hacked by someone in a Govt building in Beijing once.
-
So long as your google account has a strong password you should be fine, in saying that, don't install dodgy apps.
-
I Google'd "Suspicious Sign In" and got this ...

You don't know iGoogle?
I used to use iGoogle, you could sign in and customize your google page with gadgets and stuff.

Remember the days when Google used to have a simple page, and it searched, and got what you wanted, and linked straight to it, and did it fast, and didn't try to keep an active history of every user on the internet...
Seems so long ago.

And everything was hardcore aligned down the LHS
I use to use it to download mp3's back before most people knew what an mp3 was....why did we tell people about the internet? it seems people ruined the internet.

I use iGoogle. Pretty much an RSS feed aggregator in a webpage.

Had the same thing a long while ago too :(
