I'm looking for a seedbox provider, does anyone have any experience with these?
-
I am interdasted.
Teach me.

Seedunlimited is where mine is
Got the 700gb one that allows private and public trackers.
Codex had some issues with it.. But i have had good service and good customer support from them.
Us if you buy a year which is about 150usd you get 6 months extra.

I've been using seed.st since august last year, its awesome...
but unlike Seedunlimited you can only use private trackers
edit/
Im liking the look of Seedunlimited, streaming from the seedbox would be nice.
what sort of speeds do you get get sanz ?
-
I had used seed.st in the past, and it was fairly hassle free. And the prices didn't seem too bad.
-
Speakman has a good one too I believe, maybe PM him

Check out Feral Hosting, they have some decent pricing, pretty good if you are looking for something reasonably low cost. They are private tracker only, but most others are as well
I get max line speed off it (prob means nothing to anyone who doesn't know my line speed... but its gooooood)

I would go with seedmybox.com (http://www.seedmybox.com) - They are the best bang for the buck when it comes to 1 gbps seedbox. And their VPSes give the best FTP speeds to us kiwis! :)

I'm using feral hosting with deluge
Works really well and is very fairly priced
Also deluge can be setup as a thin client so you don't have to use web interface, also works with transdroid: http://www.transdroid.org/

I'm the one who got told sanz/codex abotu seedunlimited, been with them for a year or two now and never had any issues.
-
Yeah I had issue with seedunlimited, instead of sorting it out he chose to close my acount, not refund me and ignore my contact so I can't really recommend them
-
Usenet is shit, torrents are shaped, direct hosters are silly.
Is this seedbox thing the answer? Is there a guide explaining it and how to use it?
-
Buy one, download torrents from it, "copy and paste" things to your PC using SSH.
ISP can see the traffic, but because its encrypted have NFI what it is, they have difficulty shaping it.

IS FIST-ING THE ANSWER?
Yeah codex cant recommend seedunlimited but both myself and lias have never had issues.
Problem was codex being a nub and arguing with the guy....

As codex said feral is excellent, I know there are some cheaper alternatives now but the three different boxes I have had with them were trouble free, and their service was good.
A seedbox is definitely the way to go if your connection is shaped, it worked well the week I was on slingshot (250ms aus gaming at night? suck my dick) and I was getting line speed on my VDSL connection from England.
These days I have terabytes of upload on everything bar what.cd (which is still 600gb, plenty of buffer ^_^) so I have no need anyway.
That and the netflix cometh

I'm not a huuuuuuge downloader, but I went with the cheapest plan on seed.st, and it seems more than adequate, especially for ~$10pm.
