According to stuff a NZ Guildwars player murdered another Guildwars player shortly after they were playing Guildwars:

Expect massive overblown hype about potential evils of gaming as this unfolds....

Oddball and chillipepper?

The stuff article downplays the link between gaming and violence, well at least the psychologist does.
there is a link in this case, wonder if they frequented this haven?
-
The key thing here is the anger. Über rage. As opposed to general "fucked in the head I want to kill people" emotion.
-
Slobr and chillipepper?
I thought the media wasn't allowed to report on suicide?

Guild Wars is hardly a violent game.

A week or so ago I would have agreed with you, now I'm not so sure...!

Guild Wars is hardly a violent game.
It is no StarCraft (http://www.getsome.co.nz/showthread.php?62887-18-year-old-stabbed-girl-after-disconnect-in-StarCraft)

Guild Wars is hardly a violent game.
Of course it is. You fight with swords and axes and bows and guns and there's magic flying around everywhere and there's giants and zombies and a bunch of lion people that like fire and every 3 hours dragons fall from the sky in exactly the same spot to go through a protracted battle split into the same phases each time.

This article is both hilarious and kind of funny, but mostly sad.
http://venturebeat.com/2013/02/25/harris-poll-58-percent-of-adults-believe-in-a-correlation-between-video-games-and-violence/
Get this 58% of american adults think there is a correlation between video games and violence, so fucking what?
Cant wait to see the rest of the data on this one....especially the subject selection (missing at least some portion of the frontal lobe?)

Yea but 50% of americans are completely retarded
-
85% of Americans have an invisible friend who they think created the universe, yet still has the time to help them find a parking space.

If studies were done between video games and violent moods... that would be interesting. Especially to see how long it would take for someone to come out of it after they stop playing.
But just because someone is mad doesn't mean they're going to massacre their friends. Same reasons adults don't get physical when someone cuts them off at the stop sign... oh wait.
