HP has formally announced their entry into the Android tablet space with this, the HP Slate 7. The 7-inch Slate 7 isn't intended to be a high end, bleeding edge tablet, but it is only $169. So, spec wise, what do we get for that low, low price.
Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
7-inch 1024x600 HFFS display
1.6 GHz dual-core A9 processor
1GB of RAM
8GB on-board storage
microSD card slot
3MP rear camera
VGA front facing camera
Beats Audio
HP ePrint application

HP... ohgodwhy

HP are getting on the cool-train with the stupid young tech-kids.
People love the Dre Beats in certain laptop models.
-
I wonder how well beats by chris brown would sell
-
It would be pretty good.
If you get beats in your car, it would be so awesome that you would have to stop the car to beat the beats.
I want a 7" tablet that has minimal screen wasted at either sides. I hate the big fat black borders on them.
-
I'll show you big black thick borders
-
Looks like a nexuss tablet thingee.
-
Needs a IPS 1280x720 screen, and its a go. Other than that its nice. But given you can buy a tablet with an 720 IPS screen for pretty much the same price, not sure why you would go for it.
-
^Pretty much.
8GB internal... Really?!
3MP Camera... Really?!
These are things that cost nothing. The only mildly cool thing is printing ability, but I'd use that maybe once, ever.
-
what 720p tablet can you buy for same price?
-
That bezel!! OH GOD! D:
-
What a piece of shit.
Fuck you HP.
Make something good for once. Your AIOs suck, your laptops suck, your tablets suck.
-
As much as i'd hate to admit HP have made something good, their toaster thin clients are quite awesome despite the label saying "Produck of China" on the dvi adapters o-o
-
They also make some of the best Grand format printers in the market...... it sort of helps that they purchased all their big competitors and started selling them as HP.
