Get tasker, it allows you to write scripts/basic apps like GPS only enables when you open google maps or my tracks etc

I use to use chrome when opera failed and opera when chrome failed, but recently I have found myself using chrome more and more

Hey, so with an ipad, when you restart it Safari forgets all the tabs you had open, is there anyway to make it remember/save them?

Also, is there a way to have more than 10 tabs open at once?

However if you really really love safari I did find these tweaks for you:

Open more than 10 tabs:

ipad is the parents, they like it, but also find its silly limits with sufffari stupid.

I guess what I am asking is why does it not do all of this automatically? I thought apple products were intuitive, that apple knew what we wanted and were giving it to us in exchange for all our dollars.

Because they want a constant fluid experience and don't want any chance of the device slowing down.

Tell your parents to get dolphin browser or chrome.

Didn't take you long to take the bait!

Learn Swindle, many of us have lives and jobs and don't want to spend hours hacking and rooting our devices to make them 'tailored to suit me' (dafuq).

Flattered that you believe my choice of tablet is indication of my brain size. If you can show me a half decent Android app that can be used by pilots in New Zealand for Air Navigation/flight planning as well as accessing the latest catalogue of airfield charts from Airways NZ, then I may consider an Android tablet when I next upgrade.

Electronic Flight Bag New Zealand, and Air Navigation Pro.

The difference with Air Nav Pro to other similar apps is that you can purchase the lastest NZ VFR charts through the app, rather than just having a generic satellite underlay you get the proper charts with airspace boundaries etc.

Is there a difference between the Air Nav Pro made by Xample Sarl on the app store compared to the Air Nav Pro made by Xample Sarl on the play store?

What exactly is wrong with the competing EFB app on android? does it not allow you to do something critical? or is it something like a UI issue?

You're telling me you don't have a few hours a week to kill and learn something new? In any case, you would be the bait taker friend :)

And if one app is holding you to Apple products... I just really don't know what to say to that.

For the same reason I don't spend a few hours each week putting makeup on my dog and dressing it in human clothes? I'm not interested in doing that. Jesus Christ.

Yes, I only bought an iPad for use in aircraft. Like thousands of other pilots across the world. It's primary purpose is air navigation. It has allowed me to dump about 3kg of books and charts I would otherwise have to carry and keep organised.  So yes, absolutely I bought it for one app. As a bonus, I can use it for reading the news while taking a shit, which it happens to do just great.

BH, there is no android app that gives real time access and ability to download the latest Airways NZ airfield charts. Hopefully the NZCAA gets its ass into gear and makes official products for iOS, Android and Windows.

Clearly that Air Nav app appears to be the same. Going by my previous Android experience with the release of the SGS2 I would guess the UI is inferior to the iOS version. That was a couple of years ago and may (hopefully) not be the case now.

If you are VFR you have to stay below the clouds (can go above if less than half the sky is obscured with clouds).

If you are IFR you go through the clouds, using the aircrafts nav instruments. iPad/tablet is for charts/checklists etc only.

There are few things more exhilirating than Flying IMO.

Even bombing around the Cotesville forest area in a piddley little R22 is amazing - Especially when you pop up above a ridge line and for a brief second imagine that you are in fact in an AH64 Apache and you are raining Death upon the various enemy tanks that are over the ridge....

Then you remember you are in an R22 again

Bumping this thread again as I've been given a S4. Have always had an iPhone which was jailbroken now looking to root this device. I'll have a read through XDA but anyone recommend some tutorials that won't brick my phone :)

Prob just looking at root at this stage then might get more adventurous with a custom ROM.

I'd be amazed if you bricked the phone with rooting. It takes about 5 mins and my S3 has had the treatment of about 12 customs ROMs and been rooted and unrooted about 5 times. No brick.

Get Odin, and the correct file. XDA S4 forums will link you with a tutorial.
