Title: Winter Approaches
Post by: BeNZene on April 14, 2013, 10:19:23 pm
Looking into getting a heat pump, a reasonably large one, for a not-entirely-straightforward install. Anyone got any recommendations for a good heatpump / insulation installer or firm in Auckland?

Also, in the mean time, anyone got any recommendations for a good firewood supplier in Auckland?

I can look after you with the unit but my installers call on how much the job would be. PM me if you like and we can talk.

Do your neighbours have any trees?

What?

Everyone needs a heat pump. They are far more effective then regular heating, and they also provide cooling in the summer.

They also prevent dampness, which would otherwise lead to health problems which would end up costing a lot of money for medical bills.

There are benefits all around for the whole country.

Here's me thinking it's a Game Of Throne thread about Winter Is Coming.

Can't wait to see that wildling ginger's bits, been hanging out since she appeared.

Just to keep it on topic, heatpumps are great if you live anywhere that doesn't get too seriously cold, even though they say they function below zero, they don't actually function that great below zero. If you are Welly or north then they are fantastic, have mine programmed to ensure I don't wake up to a cold house. Just got euro styled double glazing put in too, quiet and warm now.

I was waiting for the same thing..

I got a heat pump of 1day a few years back for my old place.. probably not the most efficient one around but it worked great.. Just got some random to install it

But, given that osiRiS can see this, it's probably best you get a good deal off him ;)

Entropy.

I know that, but through what medium.

Some sort of fluid I would imagine, but is the air itself physically pumped or is the heat (or lack thereof) transported through a more suitable medium (like oil) to an internal radiator which the air in the room is passed through?
