and as a move to consolidate all the various ways of getting into Android SDK development.

Yeah but thousands of wannabe programmers would try to eat their code.
But it would have at least aligned with the way Google name android releases.

The introduction video alone makes me want to kill someone, at least make the tech mildly attractive to developers.
