G'day lads :D
I'm in the market for few bits'n'pieces as of today and was wondering if some of ya'll could lend a hand or some good advice :)
I shall start with listing what I'm after..
- New camera body, looking at a 5D MK3 at this stage and for 24-70/70-200 L (possible a 35MM jobby for portrait stuff too, open to suggestions from the camera blokes here) lenses.
- Flash, 600EX pairs really good with the MK3 from what I've seen.
- Laptop, needs to be used for Lightroom/PS and for teethering whilst shooting, so needs to be pretty sturdy and relatively powerful.
- Studio lighting, basics.. umbrella/softbox/few light stands and a backdrop.
If anyone has any tips, advice, shops I should be looking at, dealz, second hand shit ANYTHING - I would appreciate it.. I've done a fair bit of research the last few months but would love second, third and even forth opinions :)
Much love.

for your laptop, make sure the screen quality matches as well. I love my MBP for this very matter, it matches all my screens at work and there is zero fucking around.
As for lenses on a FF, the 3rd party lenses rate very high in those brackets, do some major research. I was all set to go nikon high end on the lenses at $2500 each but after extensive research will be going sigma 24-70 and sigma 70-200, both are FF & 2.8 and are on par with the nikon brand at under half the price. It really is down to cash vs reward. It may also be worth looking at a 85 or 105 macro, they take stunning portraits. Spend a good few days weighing it up. Consider most of your shooting is going to be at that 5.6-8 range anyway which is the sweet spot for most lenses.
Also you could look at putting a 24/35/50mm fixed on your old body so it is always on hand.
As for lighting, I use Yungnuo speedlites, I think DMW uses these too, same shit at a fraction of the price. I also run some Gary Fong diffusers, they are superb and should be a must for what you are looking at. 3rd party from ebay or trademe here will see you fine.

I would've gotten a MBP but all I could really afford and even justttttttt was the 13" :/ I ended up with a 17.3" Sony Vaio - my only issue is I need to calibrate the screen asap, as my photos look completely different to my higher quality PC monitor :(
Any tips?? is there software available that can do it? or do I need to buy one of those things that attaches to my screen ahah.

Sony Vaio
Interestingly enough.
"Steve Jobs and another Apple executive were waiting for us at the end of the golf course holding VAIO running Mac OS."
