Sounds like sony is evaluating if Playstation will still be produced or developed beyond PS4

Not death row.

Smart thinking. Look back 5 years to phones, and the games you got on them. A few glorified card games and bits 'n' pieces.

They are now rivaling the PSP/DS etc...

Another 5 years, and phones/tablets will be at the level of PS4/XBOne, if not considerably better.

Why invest in something that won't be required in 5 years?

I don't want to fucking game on a 5" screen.

It's all these casual gamer fucks playing Clash of Clans who're driving the market force.

Sony will be putting its game streaming service into full force when the PS4 reaches the end of its life so they'll be making money on software without having to factor in a loss on console sales.

Plug phone into entertainment center/stream wirelessly.

All you need is the peripherals and a game distribution network (digital).

There will be very little need for these devices going forward, which is why MS tried to push the TV stuff on the XBOne.
