Post by: Xsannz on November 04, 2014, 12:43:46 pm
ouch, UK limits contactless payments to $20 dollars,

however foreign currency transactions bypass this.

I think they should raise the limit to $110. When I fill up my car I usually spend between $80 and $110, it would be great if I didn't need to put my PIN in.

Regarding the article

Quote
Visa has denied the flaw is a problem, noting that there are other security measures in place that would prevent fraudulent transactions like this from going through.

“The research does not take into account the multiple safeguards put into place throughout the Visa system, each of which must be met in order to make a transaction possible in the real world,” the company said in a statement. “For these reasons we do not believe the findings to be a cause for concern, as it would be very difficult to complete a fraudulent payment of this kind outside a laboratory environment.”

Good enough for me. And Visa still would cover you for any fraud. So there is no issue.

Or like $140, because that's what it costs me.

$80 is enough for most purchases. Lunch, a round of beers, sexual favours from Rii.

I wasn't aware Rii took contactless payments.

All this time I'm been sticking my card into his slot.
