Speaking of birds, let's high tail it away from impaling birds and chirp about fixing them.

Cat caught a small bird but it doesn't seem too damaged, but it's too sore to fly. If I let it go, it doesn't make it very far.

So. How do I help this little fucker get better.

It's the same size as a sparrow but a very nice emerald green. You'll know the one.

I've already built a small cage with chicken wire and a cardboard box, given it a small (clean) dip container of water as well as a shit load of bird seed. Even used some 1mm TPS cable and made a perch for it. Also put in a few flannels so that he can sleep on something soft.

I have called him "Satchel". F**k you.

The trouble with captive birds is getting them to eat. Provided you've got that going, it's probably just time. BUT I'M NO VET.

I bandaged it up last night and it went to sleep with it on, but its rummaged out since.

And yeah it has food and water, I've seen it drinking / eating too so you're probably right. Just time.

Its definitely a lot more energetic + fatter today too. Its living the good caged life now

Careful it doesnt have too much seed.

Wild birds can over eat when there is alot and on its own,  then they drink and the seed swells.

It can and kill them because they cant process that much or throw up so they bloat and die.

yeahhhhh I wish I read that before.

He was extremely energetic this morning, I left for an hour, came back and he was completely out of energy on the food plate. I went to google and after 5 minutes I came back to find he'd died.
