Only problem with that is sorting out that 60k deposit for a reasonable home in Auckland.......

Yeah, I had some fun with that, but there are options availible

Are the options..

- Rob 60-100K from bank.
- Arrange meeting with same bank and loan the remainder of the house.

Actually, I used a guarantor on the deposit - which the bank was happy with, no money actually changes hands, just the bank is guaranteed on the deposit

Yes, this is a good idea.

If you can convince someone to go guarantor. i.e. like your parents, then the Bank will loan you the difference against their house.

How I think it works;

10% is what you could pay for a deposit

10% is what is loaned using the guarantor assets (i.e your mums house)

80% is loaned against your house.

Close - I did this (Parents through the same bank as me)

they loaned us 100% of the mortgage, however 15% of that - the 'deposit' was guaranteed against the equity of my parents house - their mortgage payments don't change, no money is changed hands from my parents to the bank - it is just guaranteed (until such time as I have payed off enough of the mortgage/houe price increases that I can get them removed as guarantor)

Well shit, which bank? or did you already answer that and I'm blind.

All Banks should do it.

I know Westpac does.

Radical, I'll look into this! cheers :) I should just springboard off of Demon's home, since we're family here right, Right?!

I just about had a heart attack just now, the window cleaner just descended from the roof right into my office window 9-floors up.

Maybe I should ask him how much they get paid.

I heard it's pretty high up there. They have lots of opportunities to move up in their line of work.

Although it panes me to say, I do have a slight fear of heights and that might come across badly in my interview as I tend to be quite transparent.

Arrange a meeting with the bank to discuss a loan. When the bank tell you how much it will cost, fake a heart attack.

While everyone is distracted, partner robs the bank.

I'm in the same boat as you.

However banks are easing up on the restrictions, so it's worth talking to them even if you only have a 10% deposit.

Or we could sell the boat we are in.

10% itself is hard enough as it is :( most homes worthy of raising a child in Auckland (not leaky;reasonable back/frontyard;close to good schools) are 500-650K .. that's a 50-60K deposit! that's a fucking shit load.

At last glance between myself and my partner, our kiwisaver is at 12-13k? If I could magic up an extra 40-50K that would be great.. but I'm not magic :(

Fuck buying a house.

Don't want no mortgage, son.

Haha, 6 or so years ago I felt the same.. however now as a father and provider for a small family I want nothing more than the perfect family home. Also, paying a mortgage for either the same I'm paying in rent or a little bit more doesn't phase me in the slightest.

62
So event management, y/n?
You could ask Woohoo, he did something like that once I think.

I've been huntin' - def. looks like something that I could get into.

63
Student allowance can't even support one, let alone a family.

Haha, yeah - that is damn true, my rent alone is $670.00 a fortnight :P

Shit, Why are you renting - you could be paying off a mortgage with that!

Haha, all in good time mate, all in good time.. We've got some options lined up for that in the near future, we're just waiting for the perfect house to raise Tobes.

Engineering.

That certainly would be challenging considering I have next to no qualifications in that field haha..
How many years study would one need to even get into engi work?? and does playing TF2 count?

Don't need them. Depends entirely on what you're modeling.
And fuckoff, you're a strapping chap.

That is true, I guess I could be an Alternative hand model or a beard model. Although beards won't be 'cool' or hip soon according to some science shit so that probably wouldn't be a long term thing.

Realistically though, I want/need a job more challenging - something out of the goddamn office or at least out of a corporate as fuck office :/ The Navy was going to be my goddamned golden ticket! I couldn't be less enthusiastic about my current job if I tried.

If they fired me I'd probably smile - but A: I have to maintain this job for family reasons and B: I don't want to leave my job until I have something else lined up (refer to A)

DFUSDGHSDGNjsdngsjgnsdjgnw34jes I should just be a deadbeat and break my own leg and back and go on the benefit and be a complete fucking loserrrrrrrrrrrrr foreverrrrr.

Has management experience, is a character, takes photos.

What about Event Management?

Setting up, organising, MC'n, official photographer... whatevers. All of the things in events.

Hmm, never thought about that eh! I will look into it :) photography is one of those things I'll keep working on - I've shot a few events and the money has been pretty good, one day when I have a steady stream of clients I could probably crack into it part/full time.. but until then I need some bread winnin' money.

67
Yep.. not only do I have a beard that I would hate to depart with - but I have the top dog of 'job stoppers' - both hands and fingers tattooed hahaha..

Feel the pain on that.. It's amazing how much of a job stopper a couple of minor criminal convictions can be for a white collar job. Let alone having been fired within the last 12 months.

I don't have any criminal convictions and I've never been fired or had a bad work record at all - I do look the part though hahaha.

Look at this fucking bikie..

Just wear gloves all the time.
You can get fingerprints put on the gloves. Then you'll look less suspicious!

All depends on the kind of place you get into.
If someone's looking for a character sort of guy in a high energy workplace, then you'll be fine as you are I'd say.
Like... a shotgun supplements mascot, or something.

Marketing and stuff, just become a model bro, then shoot other models (with a camera, you fuck'n criminal) in your off hours.
Living the dream.

Lol, you clearly haven't seen what I look like mate, no model good looks here haha.

70
Focus on your managerial skills tbh.
That and sales/networking.

Something like that could see you out and about a bit more often.

Unfortuantely if you go sales though that might mean you need to ... I can't say it... uhh... make your face more visible.
Because sales people are about the most homogenous souless types outside of lawyers.

Yep.. not only do I have a beard that I would hate to depart with - but I have the top dog of 'job stoppers' - both hands and fingers tattooed hahaha..

I'm a lost cause. Maybe I should start a life of crime, I already look like a criminal to most of Auckland even when I'm frontpacking/pram'n my Son.

71
I've been here 5-years

Thread-ja-vu.

Yep, ugh.. 5 years.. udghughuhguhgu

72
fair call....

A diff approach with in your current workplace?

Just no more room for growth eh, I've tried on multiple occasions and to be very honest - I wouldn't want to go further here.. it's just not me. I need out of the corporate world.

73
Could you go study at night with your current job, or do distance etc. Keep your current job as funds and means to get newer better job?

I coulddddddd, but that would be putting added stress on my lady with our Son - we have a very good system atm and I wouldn't want to make her get home from work and do all of the child stuff by herself. Not to mention I would miss the ever loving shit out of my son.

74
So, long story short - back to work today after 10-days off from my current boring as all hell job and I just don't want to beeeeeeee here!  :'(

Post-holiday depression? maybe, but I've been here 5-years and my job is just not exciting (Key account manager for a business focused ISP) it pays the bills and entitles me to free net/phone/mobile. But I just feel like absolute shite.

Does anyone know of anything going? or a particular area I could perhaps start in that would be exciting and offer growth? I had all of my hopes in the Defence force until recently when they gave me literally just over a week before I was to be shipped away for 3-months so now I'm at a complete loss :(

My photography has been picking up, but no where near stable enough to quit my current job haha.

Edit: I could also just be really jealous, my partner just got a job as a teacher/tutor.. I WANT TO GET A BIG PERSONS JOB!

Sorry I couldn't make it lads! my boy has been throwing up and being a general rat bag so I'm on Nurse Dad duties!
I expect some photographic evidence of the sexual crimes you all participated in.
