Granted, they invented a lot of words used in the US, hence the 'English Language' but we just don't really use the word Soccer anymore, whereas the US still does (and therefore so does AUS/NZ) because there's a game where the ball is carried more than kicked, which is oddly also called football.

The game is football, end of story.
