Just wondering if any of my buddies on the forums are w40k tolerant :D

What army('s) do you collect?

Myself, some 2k point army of imperial guard + other things that I never use anymore.
I am currently painting an army for a friend (Grey Knights) bloody slow process.

Models I really badly want:
*Kell and Creed (Imperial guard commanders of poonage)

Models I would trade (for stuff):
Kuskrikn pattern Wraithlord!?!?! (Had a little experiment with my paints, came out great)
Commissar Yarrick (sp maby, don't have codex in front of me atm :D), High detailed (Not absolutely awesome though)
Kusrikns (Random assortment, some hellguns and some grenade launchers... maby a shotgun somewhere)

It's abit sad that I dont play anymore.

I used to play Grey Wolves. Then when the new rules came out I played Eldar. The game's not as fun as it used to be

I do enjoy it.  However, I'm a flames of war man myself. Panzergrenadiers were my preference. Armoured halftracks with stormtrooper movement.  I also had an 88, nice to reach out and could take out even the K-2s.

I used to have a Chaos Space Marine army and a Dark Angel Space Marine army at one stage.

Was quite cool putting it all together (or converting) and painting them. Having to upgrade each army's Codex and rulebooks every couple of years was a pain though.

Gave them all to my younger brother when I left school almost a decade ago. He still has them all too, though not in as good condition.

I play Dark Eldar, have about 2500 points of that, I also have a few Eldar, Space Marines and Tau.  I'm trying to sell the Tau though.

I have a Tau army of 1000 - 1500 points, depending on how I make it.

Barely use it but, the models look pretty cool.

I used to play Catachans back in theh day, but the Catachan codex isnt in print anymore and most of the figurines are discontinued, which is a shame

i have the occasional odd battle with a friend of mine's Imperial Guard army, but nothing serious.

The new rules killed it for me, really. Like alot of good games.

I used to be a fan of it back in primary school, cant remember all the names but had about 30 different space marines and also collected some others, they were mordheim or something (rats)

Was fun using all the left over parts to make half rat half space marine characters.. That is how Ratfink was born.. He was a 50000000 pointer...

Then one day my whole collection disappeared, I think my parents gave them away.. :o!!!

They were bloody expensive too, for something that you have to make yourself.

Yeah. I used to have a 3k Iyanden army. Always dominated playing against my mates.

However, biggest waste of money ever (excluding furcadia LOL).

Agreed.

Although some parts of Starcraft are quite similar to it. I know this has been argued billions of times before. here is to a billion +1

Oi no hijacking!, you have already stolen my soul but not MY thread!!! :violin:

The pc version is ok, but needs some work.
Warhammer imo isn't a waste of monies, they can last for aegis and u never get bored of it if you have a good group of pals to have fun with.

$500-700 for a full army that wont be out dated for the next ten years maby.
or
$1500-3000 on a computer that will be outdated in less then a year and a half?

The new rules absolutely killed the game though. I threw a major wobbly when my Avatar died to Gretchin.

They've no frickin way of WOUNDING him in the old rules!

Still love Necromunda. I've still got my 50 member gang. I played so many games that my gang got ridiculously huge. An army in its own right

No way, Dawn of War kicks ass. And it's nothing like the actual game really. The units are just based on the game.

the fantasy rules are so freaking rediculos. I bought the starter a while back and tried to play it with my brother but we both gave up after a while.

Bad rules, well ok, I HATE the charge rule after losing a close combat. I can't tell you how many times i've lost the close combat, sometimes even a drawn one, made a crappy role for fallback and my army of about 8 or so guys get's destroyed by 2 pathetic units charging. That, and falling off the table edge from fallback, how dumb do you think these units are? - This rule is especially for my Tau because the jumppackers fall back 3D6. I'm in charge of the army, if I say they stay in battle without running away then they should damn well stay and FIGHT!

Theres so many rules and some changes get mad ein White Dwarfs, it's actually hard to keep track of them all. So when I play we just kinda use our interpretations.

The rulebook is hell expensive. They should have one for FREE on their website which is UPDATED. The models cost enough without having to buy old codex, new codex and rulebooks plus all the White Drawfs.
